Custom Fields Not Showing in the Dropdown When Linking Questions to Matter Custom Fields in Clio Grow

Issue:

  • Unable to see certain matter/contact custom fields from a dropdown while linking questions to matter custom fields in Grow

Environment:

  • Clio Grow

Additional Information:

Can I Edit Custom Fields in Grow that have been Synced with Custom Fields in Clio Manage?

Cause:

Identical Custom Field added for Matters and Contacts, except the field type is different (paragraph vs. single line text)

Resolution

  1. Click Settings
  2. Click Custom Fields
  3. Compare Contact Custom Fields with Matter Custom Fields
  4. Find the same Contact and Matter Custom Fields
  5. Check if those identical fields are the same type of field (e.g. - paragraph vs. single line text)
  6. Either remove one identical field or recreate the Custom Field in Clio Manage prior to re-syncing it to Clio Grow
