Why am I Unable to Create Payment Plans Using the Credit Card on File?

Issue:

  • Unable to create payment plans using a client's credit card
  • Can't create payment plan when selecting use an existing credit card on file

Environment:

  • Clio Manage
  • LawPay

Additional Information:

*Please note that if you Disable AVS Verification, no AVS check will be performed, depending on your firm's security policies and preferences, you may wish to leave it on.

Cause:

This is likely due to an AVS (Address Verification Service) setting within LawPay

Resolution:

To access your AVS settings within LawPay:

1. Click on your User Name in the top right
2. Select Settings
3. Under Accounts, click on the Edit button for the account you would like to change (must be completed for each account separately)
4. Under Manual Entry Policies, select Disabled in the AVS Verification field
