Error: 'Country Code Incorrect' or 'Country Length is Invalid' When Entering a Credit Card Payment


  • A message saying that the country code is invalid when putting in credit card details to record a payment on a bill
  • 'Country Length is Invalid' error shows when adding a Clio Payment on a bill

  • Contact's country field is empty in Clio


  1. Navigate to the Contact
  2. Click Edit contact
  3. Under the Address section, select a Country
  4. Click Save contact at the bottom
  5. Refresh your browser screen (Control R on a PC or Command R on a Mac)
  6. Retry recording the payment
  7. If you're still getting the error after that, please contact Clio Support
