Quick start: Filter data by using an AutoFilter
Procedure:
Downloading the CSV File
- Export your Contacts List as a CSV Spreadsheet
- This can be done as a high-level export (via the Exports page) or by clicking the "Export" button at the bottom of the Contacts page, selecting CSV, then Available Columns.
- Open the CSV file in Excel.
- Select the whole Table (PC: CTRL+A, Mac: CMD+A)
- Click Sort and Filter on the ribbon bar at the top-right, and select Filter
- You should see drop-down arrows appear beside each Column Header.
- Select the entire column for Contact Created Date or CreatedAt
- On the "Home" ribbon, select Short Date
- If this doesn't appear to have an effect on your data, you may need to re-format your "Date" column first. Please continue to the next step below. If it does appear to re-format your "Date" column, skip down to the section below, "Filtering the Report by Date"
Re-Formatting the Date Column to allow for easy Sorting/Filtering
This section may or may not be necessary, depending on your computer's
localization / date format settings.
- Select the entire column for Contact Created Date or CreatedAt
- On your keyboard, hit CTRL+H (or go to Edit > Find > Replace) to open the Find & Replace window.
- Under Find what, enter the Time Zone acronym that's used in the report (in this example, it's PST)
- Under Replace with, keep it entirely blank.
- Ensure that Match case and Find entire cells only are turned off
- Click Replace All
- Then, to ensure the column is properly formatted, while it's still highlighted, go to the Home tab and ensure the column is formatted as a Date.
Filtering the Report by Date
[Windows]
- Click the drop-down menu beside the Contact Created Date or CreatedAt column
- Select Date Filters
- If you don't have this option (or if "Text Filters" appears instead), you'll need to follow the step above to
- Enter your desired parameters (such as After, Before, Between, etc)
[Mac]
- Click the drop-down menu beside the Contact Created Date or CreatedAt column
- Under "Filters", select the Choose One dropdown menu
- Enter your desired parameters (such as After, Before, Between, etc)
