Answer:
Clio Scheduler will only provide time slots for booking that satisfy these criteria:
- Appointment types: in the Settings > Appointment types page, you can configure the recurring availability windows for each appointment type (click the “...” button to the right of the appointment type, then select Edit)
- Recurring availability section: You can add multiple time slots per day (e.g. 9-11am and 1-3pm on Mondays)
Note: if no recurring availability days/times are selected, the availability window for the appointment type will default to Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm according to the time zone set in your Clio Grow account (should you wish to adjust your time zone, the steps are here).
- Recurring availability section: You can add multiple time slots per day (e.g. 9-11am and 1-3pm on Mondays)
- Ad hoc meetings: The time slot falls within Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm according to the time zone set in your Clio Grow account.
All day events
If you wish to block off your availability in Clio Scheduler for an entire day or multiple days, you should create an event in your Clio Manage calendar that spans the entire time period you wish to block off and not check off the All Day checkbox.
The Manage Calendar that Clio Scheduler refers to is the one selected in the Send events to Clio Manage calendar section of Grow Settings > Email & Calendar.
For example, if you were going to be on vacation and unavailable from October 28 - 30, creating an event that spans from October 28 12:00AM to October 30 12:00AM and not check off All Day would ensure that Clio Scheduler does not allow appointments to be booked during this time.
This is how this would look when creating the event in Clio Manage:
When the “All Day” checkbox is checked for a calendar event in Clio Manage and/or a 3rd party calendar (Google Calendar, Outlook), this event will not affect the availability regardless of whether it’s marked “free” or “busy” in the 3rd party calendar, or if it’s a single or multi-day span. This behaviour is similar to an event being labeled "free" in Google Calendar.
If you are using a 3rd party calendar (Google Calendar, Outlook) as your primary calendar and wish to block off a day or multiple days, you should create an event that blocks your work hours and leave the "All day" checkbox unchecked.
