Objective:
- To install and use the Fujitsu ScanSnap integration
Environment:
- Clio Manage
- ScanSnap Scanner
- ScanSnap Manager
Additional Information:
Use of the ScanSnap integration requires the installation of either ScanSnap Manager or ScanSnap Home (will depend on your scanner model) and Clio Launcher.
How Do I Change the File Name Format of Documents Scanned in via ScanSnap?

Please Note: Ensure that you are using the most up to date version of Clio Launcher in order for this application to work. For steps on how to update, please click here.
Procedure:
First install ScanSnap Home or ScanSnap Manager and Clio Launcher to use the integration:
- If you have the existing version of Clio Launcher, or Clio Uploader installed, you will first need to uninstall these.
- Install Clio Launcher per the instructions here.
- Install the ScanSnap twain driver for ScanSnap Home, or ScanSnap Manager, depending on your scanner model here.
- Connect Clio Launcher to ScanSnap via the instructions below (note there are different instructions for ScanSnap Home users and ScanSnap Manager users).
For ScanSnap Home Users - Instructions for connecting Clio Launcher to ScanSnap Home:
- Add Clio Launcher to ScanSnap Home Application List by following these steps:
- Open ScanSnap Home and click the blue Scan button in the top left corner.
- Click the Plus button to add a new profile
- Scroll down to Application, click Clio Launcher, and click Add to complete the installation
For ScanSnap Manager users - Instructions for connecting Clio Launcher to ScanSnap Manager (PC):
- Open Scansnap Manager
- Click Settings
- If the Quick Menu is selected, de-select it
- Under the Profile dropdown click Add Profile
- Name your profile (i.e. Scan to Clio), and click OK
- Select the Application tab
- Click Add or Remove
- Click Browse
- Verify that Show hidden files, folders, and drives is enabled (see here)
- Click the "C" Drive
- Click Users
- Click the User you are currently logged into on your PC
- Click Appdata
- Click Local
- Click Clio Launcher
- Click cliolauncher.exe
- Click OK
- Name the application (i.e. Clio Launcher)
- Click OK to return to the "Add/Remove" window
- Click Close
- In the ScanSnap Manager, under the Application tab, select Clio Launcher from the dropdown
- Click Yes, to apply new settings
- Click Apply
- Left-click the ScanSnap Manager icon and Scan to Clio
- Put the paper you wish to scan in the scanner according to the instructions
- Press the scanner button to start a scan
For ScanSnap Manager users - Instructions for connecting Clio Launcher to ScanSnap Manager (Mac):
Note for Mac users: macOS Catalina users with scanner models S1500, S1500M, or S1300 will be unable to use the Fujitsu ScanSnap integration as Fujitsu ScanSnap has ended support of ScanSnap Manager on Catalina OS. Mac users with scanner models S1500, S1500M, or S1300 can continue to use this integration by not upgrading to Catalina OS or by upgrading to a newer model scanner.
- Open Scansnap Manager
- Click Settings
- If the Quick Menu is selected, de-select it
- Under the Profile dropdown click Add Profile
- Name your profile (i.e. Scan to Clio), and click OK
- Select the Application tab
- Click Add or Remove
- Click Browse
- Find the Application file (this can sometimes be found under a hidden folder)
- Name the application (i.e. Clio Launcher)
- Click OK to return to the "Add/Remove" window
- Click Close
- In the ScanSnap Manager, under the Application tab, select Clio Launcher from the dropdown
- Click Apply
- Left-click the ScanSnap Manager icon and Scan to Clio
- Put the paper you wish to scan in the scanner according to the instructions
- Press the scanner button to start a scan
Scanning files into Clio via Clio Launcher:
To perform a scan from your scanner to Clio, ensure you have Clio Launcher selected, and then click the blue Scan button to perform the scan. You can also click the scan button directly from your scanner.
When the scan is complete, Clio Launcher will display on the desktop where you can select the destination of the document (a specific matter or root documents section).
