Issue: Photos uploaded from Camera Roll on iOS app won't preview

  • Previewing .HEIC files (photos uploaded from Camera Roll) on the iOS app results in an error

  • Clio iOS App
  • iOS 13

Additional Information:

  • Photos with a .HEIC file extension are Apple's format for High Efficiency photos.
  • This is the default format used for photos taken on iOS devices.

This issue was introduced in an iOS 13 update.

  1. Open "Settings" your iOS device
  2. Navigate to "Camera", then "Formats"
  3. Change "High Efficiency" to "Most Compatible"

Your photos will now save as .JPG files instead of .HEIC files, which will make them preview properly in the Clio iOS app.
