Why Is an "Original Emails" Folder Created When I File Emails?

Objective:

  • Why is this folder being created when in the past it was stored directly in the communications section?

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

  • Please note that any emails filed before the feature was launched (around June 2020) will not be filed within an "Original Emails" folder

Answer:

This is a new feature which allows users to save the HTML formatting of emails. This format may be required if emails need to be submitted to the Courts for any reason. This is expected functionality for both Outlook, Gmail filed emails, and Matter Maildrop filed emails.
