Why is the Client's Outstanding Balance Different Than the Detailed Statement of Account on their Bill?

Question:

  • Why is the Outstanding Balance tab amount different than the amount shown on the Bill's Statement of Account?

Environment:

  •  Clio Manage

Additional Information:

n/a

Answer:

Early Payment Discounts included in the Client's Payment Profile are not reflected on the Detailed Statement of Account on the Bill.

The Outstanding Balance tab found at the top of the main Billing tab will show the accurate amount, at that time. If the Bill has not been paid by the due date for the Early Payment Discount, it will be automatically removed from the Bill and the Outstanding Balance will reflect the new amount due, excluding the Early Payment Discount.
