The Xero integration with Clio Manage is available to subscribers of our North American Boutique, Elite, and Suite plans, and Loyalty plan customers in EMEA.

What is the Chart of Accounts in Xero?

The chart of accounts is a list of all accounts you can use to record your transactions in Xero. It helps you classify your transactions correctly and group similar accounts together to generate reports about your practice.

 

Account Code Enhancements to Xero Integration

What is changing and how will it improve my Clio Manage and Xero Integration?

Previously, you only had the option to select one code for your time entries and a second code for your expense entries.

With this update to our existing integration with Xero, we’ve added an option to activity categories that will allow you to override the ‘Xero Account Code’ option you can select in the Xero settings screen.

Why is Clio making this update?

We know that before this update, our Xero customers needed to review their invoices post-sync to modify the account codes for particular activities. This update will reduce the need for manual updates to account codes.

What if I do not specify an account code in the activity category?

If an account code is not specified then we will use the value that is specified in the account’s Xero settings.

Can I add account codes to pre-existing activity categories?

Yes, You can edit your pre-existing activity category to set the mapping.

Why am I not seeing the Xero option in activity categories?

The dropdown will only appear if you have set up Xero bill syncing. If the sync has not been set up then the dropdown menu will not appear. You may also want to check to ensure your integration between Clio and Xero is correctly set up. This article will help you in troubleshooting your Xero integration.
