Why Did My Clio Calendar Double Book?

Question:

  • Why was a client allowed to book in my schedule when I already had an appointment?
  • Does Clio Calendar prevent or stop appointments from booking when I'm busy?

Environment:

  • Clio Manage
  • Clio Grow

Additional Information:

When the “All Day” checkbox is checked for a calendar event in Clio Manage or with a third-party calendar (Google Calendar, Outlook), this event will not affect the availability. This happens regardless of whether it’s marked “busy” in the third-party calendar, or if it’s a multi-day event.  See more at How Does Clio Scheduler Determine What Time Slots are Available to Book?

Answer:

Clio will not prevent users from manually booking over existing appointments. Using the Firm Feed feature in Clio can provide additional information on when appointments were booked, edited, or moved.

Clio will prevent appointments from double-booking between Clio Grow and Clio Manage — however, if third-party calendar sync to Clio Manage is disabled, events created in the third-party calendar would not create conflicts in Clio Manage.  See a full list of resources on Clio Sync here.
