Why Does the Statement of Account on My Trust Request Have the Wrong Total Amount Outstanding?

Question:

Additional Information:

To avoid this in future instances, it may be useful to use a specific Bill Theme for Trust Requests that does not include a Statement of Accounts.

Answer:

The Statement of Account section of a bill will always show the current state of the Trust account. When a payment is received on a Trust Request, it will add the payment amount to both Payments Received and to the Amount in Trust. This causes the Total Amount Outstanding to appear incorrect, though each field is showing the correct amount.

To resolve this, update your Bill Theme to remove the Summary of Accounts:

  1. Click on Settings
  2. Click on Billing
  3. Click on Bill Themes
  4. Select the Bill Theme you wish to change
  5. Click Statement of Accounts
  6. Click Summary of Accounts 
  7. Select Hidden
