Issue: Bills Do Not Sync To Quickbooks Online With Invalid Inline Tax Settings

Issue:

  • Bills do not sync to Quickbooks Online when using the "Include tax value with corresponding line item" (inline tax) and a invalid tax mapping is chosen. No error is shown to indicate any issue.
  • Bills created using the "HST NL - Harmonized federal and provincial tax (Newfoundland and Labrador)" tax setting" tax setting do not sync to Quickbooks Online

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

  • This issue has been identified when using the "HST NL - Harmonized federal and provincial tax (Newfoundland and Labrador)" tax setting.
  • Any bills created while using an invalid tax setting may have the incorrect tax amount.

Cause:

The particular tax settings are invalid

Workaround:

  1. Check for all valid tax options in Quickbooks Online at https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/tax/manage
  2. Choose a matching tax option in the Quickbook settings within Clio
    • For the example above choose "HST NL 2016 - Combined federal and provincial tax (15% Newfoundland)" instead of "HST NL - Harmonized federal and provincial tax (Newfoundland and Labrador)"
  3. Make an edit to any missing bills the reinitialize the sync.
