Why are Non-Default Custom Fields Showing Up Editing Matters?

Question:

  • Why are Non-Default Custom Field Showing Up when Editing Matters?

Environment:

  • Clio Manage

Additional Information:

  • This only affects matters created when custom fields were set as Defaults. They will not come up when creating new matters.
  • The Custom Field(s) can be removed when editing matters if needed.

Answer:

Typically, this is seen when the Custom Field(s) was previously set to Default/Required then edited to not be so and only shows up within matters created during that period.

The Custom Fields will not be included when creating new matters.
