Objective:
- To determine the workflow to enter e checking information to pay a Bill
- How to set up an echeck payment for a Trust Request
- How do I store echeck information for a Payment Plan
Environment:
- Clio Manage
Additional Information:
- At this time, the only system that has the ability to accept ACH (eCheck) payments when sending a bill or trust request from Clio is Clio Payments
- LawPay does accept ACH payments but that functionality isn't integrated with Clio. If you wish to accept an ACH payment using LawPay, you then have to record it manually back into Clio.
Procedure:
- Navigate to the email you received from your Attorney
- Click Pay Online Now button
- You will now see the balance owing and any other Bills outstanding
- Enter the payment amount
- Select Payment Method: eCheck
- Click the button to Select your Bank to start the process of authenticating
- Click Continue to agree to allow Plaid to securely link to your bank account to make the payment
- Select your bank account
- Enter your online banking credentials
- You should be brought back to the payment window with your banking name and the last 4 digits of the account linked
- Review and authorize the payment
- You are required check the box to approve the Withdrawal of funds from your account
- Optional - You can check the 2nd box if you would like to store the eCheck payment method for future use on Bills or Payment Plans
- Click Submit Payment
- Confirmation that the payment has been submitted. You will also receive an email with similar information
