Answer:

The main difference between the transaction report and ledger report is that the transaction report will show users the payments you received net of any fees that may have been taken out of your operating account in regards to the payment.

The ledger report would be specifically useful if you wanted to be updated on the amounts that you received in regards to your invoices or trust deposits in total, without taking into consideration any fees that may have been extracted.
