Why Legal Aid Options Are Not Showing In The Drop-Down Menu Within The Matter?


  • Cx has several contacts with Matters that should be Legal Aid. When editing the existing matter, the client doesn't see the legal aid options listed under the practice area.

  • Cx created a Matter and initially chose any practice area as an option other than Legal Aid, also added time entries to the Matter. Now, when trying to switch practice areas, the Matter doesn't list the Legal Aid options anymore.


Before suggesting this workaround, make sure that all configurations in Settings and Contact were set correctly. Please see the article under additional information.


As a workaround, to turn a Matter into a Legal Aid, clients will need to transfer all existing time entries to another Matter (by creating a dummy Matter or using an existing one), so they can switch the matter practice area to legal aid.

After switching to the correct practice area, they can transfer all time entries back to the correct matter.
